When no one else would do it, I was happy to. That’s how I got on the GFTR. (And no, this isn’t a curse-word that has been turned into an acronym.) Saying yes is half the battle. So I said yes. And a few months later, there I was, partying it up like I was Bret Michaels and it was 1985 all over again.
The Great Food Truck Race on the Food Network might be part of the reason that you are reading this, but I already had a rabid (as in dedicated) fan base before. There aren’t many back-country chefs in the world, so it’s a small pond, but a very awesome pond, and I’ve been lucky to be one of the biggest fish in my own puddle.
Going from mountain summits to boardwalks and beaches is just all a part of what I do, but this experience was one of a kind! I’m looking forward to(and cringing) a little at the prospect of watching myself on TV, but here we go!
